WHY YOU SHOULD JUST DO THE BOUDOIR SHOOT

You’ve inquired already, but you’re scared shitless to book. Don’t worry, no judgement from me…

I totally get it. For most women, this is their first time booking such a personal and intimate session for themselves. First off lemme tell you that feeling nervous/anxious/scared is 1,000% NORMAL. If you’re not a nervous Nelly then it’s probably because you have already done one or are a freaking natural in front of the camera, to which I applaud you. It takes BALLS to do something like this you guys!! I mean if it was so easy, everyone would do it… right?!

Throughout my time running this business and answering the burning questions of the many women that have inquired with me, I keep hearing the same reasons why you can’t book right now. Now, I am not about to come on here and blast anyone that has said any of the following reasons, but I’m going to be straight up honest with you. Those reasons are BS.

Let me explain:

#1 – I need to get into shape first

Look, I get it. I REALLY do. Throughout the years my weight has fluctuated from my heaviest at 220 pounds to my current 155. I know every woman wants to look fine as fuck in their boudoir session. But doing a boudoir session is entirely about celebrating your body RIGHT NOW. We practice and celebrate self love and body appreciation here at RLB, and I am telling you right now that you are already fine as FUCK and can do a session just as you are now. No need to conform to societal body standards that even the Kardashians cannot conform to (hellooooo have you see the recent Khloe Kardashian bikini image everyone is talking about rn?!). If you want to work out leading up to your session, that is cool. But it is certainly not needed or required. Come as you are, you beautiful and capable bitch.

#2 – I cant spend that kind of money on myself

First off, who is telling you that you can’t spend money on yourself?! Tell me a name and addy, I will be on my way to F some shit up.

I know damn well how hard it is to spend money on yourself. Shit, even getting a few new shirts or that cute AF home decor at Target can be hard to swallow when the only reason you want it is because YOU want it! But when was the last time that you did something for yourself? We do sooooo much for our kids, our spouse, our families and friends… which is such a kind human thing to do. But often times we forget to do things for ourselves, to please our self love desires and needs. I know moms can definitely relate to this, I mean we are SO QUICK to drop some serious coin on our kid’s extracurricular activities, toys and treats, vacations… but why are we so hesitant to drop that same coin on ourselves?! It’s because society has created this stigma that moms (and dads sometimes too!) are suppose to give ALL of themselves to their families, all while surviving on basically little to nothing for us. Which personally I think is bullshit! I mean I get my hair done once, maybe twice a year meanwhile I just dropped $200+ on new summer clothing for my sons last week! Don’t deprive yourselves of indulging in self care, ladies. You can’t fill anyone’s cup if your cup is dry and empty.

My prices reflect the luxury and quality service you will receive while with me. I don’t want this to just be a typical show-up-shoot-and-leave kind of photoshoot. I want you to feel like you are pampering yourself the moment you book with me to the moment you come pick up your products! Think of it like a spa day, except you get to take home heirloom quality products that will commemorate the day forever!

#3 -I don’t have the confidence to do a session like this

I am sure this relates to how you view your body in this moment, and that is okay. Everyone is at different points in their self love and body appreciation journey! And while you may think you don’t have the body for this kind of a session, I gotta ask you: Who told you you couldn’t do a boudoir session? Your man? Your parents?

I can and WILL show you all the angles that are damn near impossible for you to even capture yourself on your phone camera. Trust me, some of the poses that I have had former clients do are crazy weird looking in person, but they make fine as fuck images. Is your booty your favorite part of your body? #4 – My s/o won’t let me do a boudoir session

I am going to say this in the nicest way I can muster up:

FUCK HIM/HER/ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU THIS SHIT.

Giiiiiirl we are not in the 1950’s anymore. I usually keep my mouth shut when I get this response, but FUCK do I want to say all my colorful words when I meet women who are with spouses that are controlling! I do believe most people, ESPECIALLY men, have a false perception of what entails a boudoir session. Shit even my husband needed a couple of educational corrections on my business back when I was starting! My husband later admitted to feeling insecure and his emotions were to immediately reject my idea because of it. Men (and anyone else for that matter) have a right to feel insecure, I won’t ever tell someone they can’t feel insecure about anything. However what is NOT Gucci is telling their spouse that they aren’t allowed to do one AFTER they have been explained what goes into a session. If you have a spouse like this but you want to book a session, email me and I will happily inform both you AND them about everything that goes into a session! I am more than happy to educate others on sessions like this and what doing a boudoir session truly does to women, and I am sure they will understand afterwards!

#5 – I don’t know what to wear

This is a common thing, and don’t worry girl I GOTCHU! Not only do you have easy access to my client closet, which includes body chains, jewelry, props and lingerie sizes ranging from S-4XL… but I will definitely be your step in bestie if you are unsure if your own lingerie looks good on you! I have had many women of all different shapes come in with different kinds of lingerie, and sometimes some pieces just don’t work out. But it is not because of you, but more so the lingerie! Some lingerie just doesn’t fit some body types and that is A-OK. I can help guide you through what will look good on your body type, as well as even occasionally purchase new lingerie just for your body type to wear for your session! #6 – I don’t have anyone to give these images to

Who said you had to give these to anyone?! You shouldn’t do a session for anyone but yourself! The albums, digitals and prints are all ways to remind yourself that you are THAT bitch, that fine as fuck baby mama, that QUEEN! Of course these products are perfect gifts to give to your honey, but honestly that is just a bonus perk of doing a boudoir session. Do the session for YOU, baby.
